1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Loosen the lug nuts on the rear wheel that corresponds to the half shaft you are removing.
3. Raise the vehicle using a jack and axle stands. Make sure the vehicle is securely supported before proceeding.
4. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
5. Locate the brake caliper and remove the two bolts that hold it in place. Carefully hang the caliper out of the way, making sure not to strain or damage the brake line.
6. Remove the ABS sensor from the hub by unbolting it and disconnecting the electrical connector.
7. Locate the half shaft and identify the two bolts that secure it to the rear hub. These bolts may be covered by a protective cover, which can be removed by carefully prying it off with a flat-head screwdriver.
8. Remove the two bolts and gently pry the half shaft out of the hub using a pry bar or a large screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the hub or the splines on the half shaft.
9. Once the half shaft is removed, clean the mating surfaces of the hub and the half shaft to remove any dirt or debris.
10. Reassemble the components in the reverse order of disassembly. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque values as indicated in the vehicle's service manual.
