1. Park your car in a safe location. Turn off the engine and engage the parking brake.
2. Identify the positive and negative terminals on both batteries. The positive terminal is usually marked with a "+" sign, while the negative terminal is marked with a "-" sign.
3. Connect the positive terminal of the donor car's battery to the positive terminal of your Jaguar's battery. Use a jumper cable that is specifically designed for jump starting.
4. Connect the negative terminal of the donor car's battery to an unpainted metal surface on your Jaguar, such as the engine block. Do not connect the negative terminal directly to the negative terminal of your Jaguar's battery.
5. Start the donor car and let it run for a few minutes. This will allow the donor car's battery to charge your Jaguar's battery.
6. Try to start your Jaguar. If it starts, let it run for a few minutes before disconnecting the jumper cables.
7. Disconnect the jumper cables in the reverse order that you connected them.
Here are some additional tips for jump starting an S Type Jaguar:
* Make sure that the donor car's battery is in good condition and has a sufficient charge.
* Do not connect the jumper cables to any other parts of the cars besides the battery terminals.
* If your Jaguar does not start after you have followed these steps, there may be a problem with your battery or starter. You should have your car towed to a mechanic for diagnosis and repair.
