Open the hood of the car.
Locate the headlight assembly that needs the bulb replaced.
Turn the black plastic cap on the back of the headlight assembly counterclockwise to remove it.
Remove the old bulb by pulling it straight out of the socket.
Insert the new bulb into the socket, making sure that the pins on the bulb line up with the slots in the socket.
Twist the black plastic cap back onto the headlight assembly until it is snug.
Close the hood of the car.
Test the new headlight bulb to make sure that it is working properly.
Here are some additional tips for replacing a headlight bulb on an S-Type Jaguar:
Make sure that the car is turned off and the parking brake is engaged before starting the repair.
Wear gloves to protect your hands from the sharp edges of the headlight assembly.
Be careful not to drop the new bulb. If the bulb does drop, do not touch the glass with your fingers, as this can cause the bulb to shatter.
Replace both headlight bulbs at the same time to ensure that the light output is even.
