1. Prepare your vehicle:
- Park your car on a stable and level surface.
- Turn off the engine and engage the parking brake.
- Release the lug nuts on the flat tire, but don't remove them completely (loosen them about one-quarter turn).
2. Jack up your vehicle:
- Position the jack under the appropriate jack point, which can usually be found on the underside of the vehicle. Please refer to your vehicle's owner manual for the exact location.
- Slowly jack the vehicle up until the flat tire is about 6 inches off the ground (15 cm).
3. Remove the flat tire:
- Remove the lug nuts and place them in a safe place.
- Gently pull the flat tire straight toward you to remove it from the wheel hub.
4. Install the spare tire:
- Place the spare tire on the wheel hub, aligning the lug nut holes with the holes on the spare tire.
- Hand-tighten the lug nuts to secure the tire temporarily.
5. Lower the vehicle:
- Slowly lower the vehicle using the jack until it's just touching the ground.
6. Tighten the lug nuts:
- Using a lug wrench, tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern to ensure even tightening.
- Tighten the lug nuts with all your strength until they are snug.
7. Lower the jack:
- Lower the jack until it is removed from under the vehicle.
8. Double-check the lug nuts:
- Double-check the tightness of the lug nuts. They should be snug but not over-tightened.
- Drive cautiously and at a reduced speed until you can get the flat tire repaired or replaced.
Note:
- If the spare wheel is different from the other wheels on your vehicle, make sure to mount it on the rear axle for improved stability and handling.
- Also, some Citroen Dispatch models may require additional steps, so it's always best to refer to your vehicle's owner manual for the specific instructions for your particular model.
