Make sure the ignition is off and all electrical components are turned off.
Locate the generator. It is usually located on the front of the engine, near the top.
Disconnect the positive (positive) battery cable from the generator.
Connect a jumper wire from the negative battery terminal to the generator's "F" or "FLD" terminal.
Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position for a few seconds, then turn it back off.
Remove the jumper wire.
Reconnect the positive battery cable to the generator.
Start the engine.
The generator should now be polarized and charging the battery.
