Who made the first tractor made?
The first practical tractor was invented in 1892 by John Froelich of Iowa. His steam-powered tractor, called the Waterloo Boy, was based on the design of a traction engine from England. The Waterloo Boy weighed five tons and could plough six acres of land per day. In 1897, the company was purchased by John Deere and is currently the largest agricultural equipment manufacturer in the world.
