- New transmission oil that meets the manufacturer's specifications.
- Oil filter wrench
- Funnel
- Clean rag
- Safety goggles

Procedure:
1. Park the tractor on a level surface and engage the parking brake. Turn off the engine and ensure it is cool to avoid burns.
2. Locate the transmission oil drain plug. It is typically at the bottom of the transmission housing.
3. Place a drain pan under the oil drain plug.
4. Loosen the oil drain plug using an oil filter wrench. Allow the old transmission oil to drain completely into the drain pan.
5. Once the oil has drained, tighten the oil drain plug.
6. Locate the transmission oil filter. It is usually near the oil drain plug.
7. Use an oil filter wrench to remove the oil filter.
8. Apply a thin layer of new transmission oil to the gasket of the new oil filter. This helps to create a seal and prevent leaks.
9. Screw on the new oil filter until it is snug. Avoid over-tightening.
10. Remove the filler plug. It is usually located on top of the transmission housing.
11. Using the funnel, add the recommended amount of new transmission oil to the transmission. Refer to the tractor's user manual for the specific oil capacity.
12. Check the transmission oil level with the dipstick. The oil level should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
13. Replace the filler plug.
14. Start the tractor and let it run for a few minutes. This circulates the new transmission oil throughout the system.
15. Check for leaks around the oil drain plug, oil filter, and filler plug. Tighten any loose plugs or fittings if necessary.
Properly changing the transmission oil on your International 454 tractor helps maintain its performance and the condition of the transmission. Regular oil changes can extend the life of your tractor's transmission.
