Loosen the lug nuts on the tire and wheel. Use a wrench to turn the lug nuts counterclockwise until they are loose. Remove the lug nuts by hand and set them aside. Lift the tire and wheel assembly off of the axle and place it on the ground.
Step 2: Disconnect the brake line.
Locate the brake line that connects to the axle. Use a wrench to loosen the brake line fitting on the axle. Be careful not to spill any brake fluid. Disconnect the brake line fitting from the axle and set it aside.
Step 3: Remove the axle bolts.
Locate the bolts that hold the axle to the housing. Use a wrench to loosen the axle bolts. Be careful not to drop the axle bolts. Remove the axle bolts by hand and set them aside.
Step 4: Remove the axle.
Pull the axle out of the housing. Be careful not to damage the axle or the housing. Set the axle aside.
Step 5: Reinstall the axle.
To reinstall the axle, simply reverse the steps above. Be sure to tighten the axle bolts to the proper torque specification.
Step 6: Test the axle.
After reinstalling the axle, test it to make sure that it is working properly. Drive the bobcat around and listen for any unusual noises. If you hear any unusual noises, stop the bobcat and inspect the axle.
