1. Check the fuel filter. If the fuel filter is clogged, it can prevent the fuel from reaching the engine. You can inspect the fuel filter visually and look for any signs of dirt or damage. If you see anything, replace the fuel filter.
2. Bleed the fuel lines. Air can become trapped in the fuel lines when you run the fuel tank dry. Bleeding the fuel lines will remove the air and allow the fuel to flow freely. To do this, loosen the bleeder screw on the fuel filter housing and allow the air to escape. Tighten the bleeder screw once no more air is coming out.
3. Check the glow plugs. The glow plugs help to warm the engine up before starting it. If the glow plugs are not working properly, the engine may not be able to start. You can check the glow plugs by using a voltmeter to measure the voltage at the glow plug terminals. If the voltage is not correct, replace the glow plugs.
4. Check the starter. The starter motor is responsible for cranking the engine over. If the starter motor is not working properly, the engine may not be able to start. You can check the starter motor by turning the key to the "Start" position and listening for a clicking sound. If you don't hear a clicking sound, the starter motor may be bad.
5. Check the battery. The battery provides the electrical power to the engine. If the battery is not working properly, the engine may not be able to start. You can check the battery by using a voltmeter to measure the voltage at the battery terminals. If the voltage is not correct, recharge or replace the battery.
If you have tried all of these steps and your 2002 Ford F-250 still will not start, you may need to take it to a mechanic for further diagnosis.
