1. Open the hood or bonnet of your vehicle.
2. Look for a yellow or orange plastic handle near the engine block. This is the oil dipstick handle.
3. Pull the dipstick out of the engine and wipe it clean with a paper towel.
4. Re-insert the dipstick into the engine until it is seated properly.
5. Pull the dipstick out again and check the oil level. The oil should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the dipstick.
If the oil level is low, you will need to add some oil to the engine. Use the proper type of oil as specified in your vehicle's owner's manual.
