To replace the thermostat on a 1985 Ford Bronco II, you will need the following tools:

* A new thermostat

* A gasket for the thermostat housing

* A ratchet and socket set

* A screwdriver

* A drain pan

Instructions

1. Locate the thermostat housing. The thermostat housing is located on the front of the engine, near the top. It is a round, metal housing with a single bolt in the center.

2. Place the drain pan under the thermostat housing.

3. Remove the bolt from the center of the thermostat housing.

4. Lift the thermostat housing off of the engine.

5. Remove the old thermostat from the housing.

6. Place the new thermostat in the housing.

7. Replace the gasket for the thermostat housing.

8. Reinstall the thermostat housing on the engine.

9. Tighten the bolt in the center of the thermostat housing.

10. Add coolant to the engine.

11. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for leaks from the thermostat housing.

The thermostat is located on the driver's side of the engine.
