1. Disconnect the battery. This will help to ensure that you don't accidentally start the engine while you are working.
2. Remove the fuel lines. Be sure to catch any spilled fuel in a container.
3. Remove the fuel tank. If the fuel tank is full or nearly full, you will need to drain it before removing it.
4. Remove the old fuel pump. The fuel pump is located on the side of the fuel tank. It is held in place by a few bolts.
5. Install the new fuel pump. Place the new fuel pump in position and secure it with the bolts that you removed in Step 4.
6. Reconnect the fuel lines. Be sure to connect the lines to the correct ports on the fuel pump and fuel tank.
7. Reinstall the fuel tank. Secure the fuel tank with the bolts that you removed in Step 3.
8. Reconnect the battery.
9. Test the fuel pump. Start the engine and check for any leaks.
