How do you change a 2003 ford XLT 4wd Expedition lower radiator hose 5.4 liter engine without oil cooler?

Tools and Materials:

- New lower radiator hose

- Flat-head screwdriver

- Phillips head screwdriver

- Pliers

- Adjustable wrench

- Funnel

- Coolant

- Water

Instructions:

1. Allow the engine to cool down.

2. Locate the lower radiator hose on your Ford Expedition.

3. The lower radiator hose is located near the bottom of the radiator and has two hose clamps attaching it to other parts of the engine assembly.

4. Use a screwdriver to loosen the clamps on the old hose and remove them with pliers.

5. There is not an oil cooler on this model, so you can continue to the next step.

6. Slide off the old hose and place the new hose in its place.

7. Replace the clamps and tighten them until they are secure.

8. Add a 50:50 mixture of water and coolant to the radiator until the reservoir is full.

9. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes until the air bubble has been removed.

10. Check the coolant level and add more if necessary.

11. Turn the engine off and check for any leaks. If there are no leaks, you can reconnect the negative battery cable and you're done!

Tips:

- If you have any trouble removing the old hose, you may need to use a penetrating oil to loosen it up.

- Make sure that the new hose is the same size and shape as the old hose before installing it.

- Avoid over tightening the hose clamps as they may damage the hose or snap.

- Be sure to add coolant to the radiator slowly so not to create air pockets.

- Check for leaks after starting the vehicle.
