1. Park your Sprinter on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Open the hood of your Sprinter.
3. Locate the transmission bell housing. It is the large metal housing located at the front of the engine, below the radiator.
4. Find the gear shift cable. It is a metal cable that runs from the transmission bell housing to the gear shift lever in the driver's cabin.
5. Loosen the bolts that hold the gear shift cable to the transmission bell housing.
6. Disconnect the gear shift cable from the transmission bell housing.
7. Remove the old gear shift cable from the engine bay.
8. Feed the new gear shift cable through the engine bay and connect it to the transmission bell housing.
9. Tighten the bolts that hold the gear shift cable to the transmission bell housing.
10. Reconnect the gear shift cable to the gear shift lever in the driver's cabin.
11. Close the hood of your Sprinter and test the gear shift to make sure it works properly.
