1. Disconnect the Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Remove the Intake Air Tube or Duct.
3. Remove the Throttle Body Bolts (normally two), and slide the throttle body off of the studs on the intake. It may be helpful to gently twist and rotate the throttle body to assist in removal. Ensure that the throttle body gasket remains in place in the intake opening.
4. You should now see a throttle lever with a plastic gear. This is driven by another metal gear attached to the throttle position sensor. You will most likely need to carefully pry up the lock and remove the throttle lever. Use care to avoid damaging the gear teeth. Do not lose parts as they are re-used with the new sensor.
5. Remove the TPS using a 7/32" Allen wrench and remove the two socket-headed TPS bolts.
6. Remove the electrical connector by pushing the release catch and pulling.
7. Transfer TPS lever and mounting plate to the new sensor; reverse steps 1-5 to install. Tighten TPS bolts to 89 in-lbs.
