1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for at least 15 minutes.
2. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
3. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position without starting the engine.
4. Leave the key in the "ON" position for at least 10 seconds.
5. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position.
6. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
The service engine soon light should now be reset. If the light remains on, there may be an underlying problem with the engine that requires further diagnosis and repair.
