How do you remove the ignition wires from spark plugs when they are stuck on 96 contour?

To remove stuck ignition wires from spark plugs on a 1996 Contour, follow these steps:

Gather the necessary tools: New ignition wires, spark plugs, a spark plug wrench, a flat-head screwdriver, and needle-nose pliers (optional).

Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.

Open the hood of your Contour and locate the ignition wires. They are attached to the spark plugs and will have either a black or gray coating.

Grasp the spark plug wire near the base with one hand and the spark plug boot with the other hand.

Gently twist and pull the wire to remove it from the spark plug. If it does not come off easily, proceed to the next step.

Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the boot up from the spark plug. Be careful not to damage the spark plug or the wire.

Once the boot is pried up, use needle-nose pliers to grasp and remove the wire.

Repeat steps 4-7 for the remaining ignition wires.

Install the new ignition wires in the reverse order of removal. Push them down firmly until they snap into place.

Start the engine and check for any leaks or unusual sounds.
