How do you change transmissions in the 1995 ford Windstar?

To change the transmission in a 1995 Ford Windstar, you will need the following tools:

- A new transmission filter

- A new transmission pan gasket

- A transmission filter wrench

- A 3/8-inch drive ratchet

- A 10-mm socket

- A 15-mm socket

- A 19-mm socket

- A 24-mm socket

- A fluid drain pan

- Gloves

- Safety glasses

Here are the steps to change the transmission:

1. Park your Windstar on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Engage the parking brake.

3. Crawl under the Windstar and locate the transmission pan. It is located at the bottom of the transmission, and it is held in place by bolts.

4. Place the fluid drain pan under the transmission pan.

5. Remove the bolts that hold the transmission pan in place. Be careful not to drop the bolts into the fluid drain pan.

6. Lower the transmission pan and allow the transmission fluid to drain into the fluid drain pan.

7. Once the transmission fluid has drained, remove the old transmission filter. It is located at the bottom of the transmission pan.

8. Clean the transmission pan and the filter housing.

9. Install the new transmission filter.

10. Place the new transmission pan gasket on the transmission pan.

11. Reinstall the transmission pan and the bolts that hold it in place.

12. Tighten the bolts until they are snug.

13. Add new transmission fluid to the transmission. The transmission fluid dipstick is located near the front of the engine, and it is marked with the proper transmission fluid level.

14. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.

15. Shift the transmission through all of the gears, and check for leaks.

Note: If you are uncomfortable with changing your own transmission, you can have it done by a qualified mechanic.
