Instructions:
1. Disconnect the battery: Disconnect the negative battery terminal using a wrench to loosen the nut.
2. Raise the vehicle: Place a jack and jack stands under the front of the vehicle and raise it until the front wheels are off the ground. Do not raise the vehicle higher than needed to access the alternator.
3. Remove accessory drive belts: To remove the accessory drive belts loosen the belt tensioner with an Allen wrench and slip the belts off the pulleys or remove the bolts using a socket and wrench.
4. Remove the alternator bracket: The alternator bracket is held in place by two bolts. Remove the bolts and remove the bracket.
5. Unplug alternator and remove wires: Unplug the alternator from its electrical connector. It may also be necessary to remove some wires attached to the alternator using wrenches and screwdrivers.
6. Remove the alternator: Remove the alternator by unbolting it from the mounting brackets using a socket and wrench. Be careful not to drop the alternator.
7. Install new alternator: Place the new alternator on the mounting bracket and secure it using the bolts removed in step 5.
8. Reconnect the wires and plug the alternator back into the electrical connector.
9. Replace the accessory drive belts and belt tensioner.
10. Reinstall the alternator bracket and tighten the bolts.
11. Lower the vehicle.
12. Reconnect the battery terminal.
