1. Engine misfires can be caused by a number of things, ignition system or fuel delivery system.
2. For ignition system issues, check 1) distributor cap and rotor are in good condition if your truck has one, no damage, check the 2) spark plug wires and spark plugs.
3. You may also need a 4) coil or ignition module.
4. If the problem persists, you could have 5) fuel injector 6) clogged or dirty fuel filter issues
How to Fix:
1. If the problem is the spark plug wires, you will need to replace them.
2. If the coil is bad, you will also need to replace it.
3. If the distributor cap and rotor are in bad shape, you can remove the distributor cap and rotor and clean the contacts.
4. If the fuel injector is clogged or dirty, you can try to clean it with a fuel injector cleaner or replace it with a new one.
5. If the distributor cap, the rotor, and fuel injectors are good, check for any vacuum leaks.
