* Ford Motor Company recommends using a mixture of 50% ethylene glycol Dex-cool Antifreeze and 50% distilled water.
* Avoid using any other coolant, especially those containing methanol or silicate.
* When installing a new coolant system or engine, replace the factory-filled coolant with a new 50/50 mix of ethylene glycol Dex-cool Antifreeze and distilled water after the first 5 years.
* In general, replace the coolant every 5 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
