How to replace steering line 1991 grand prix?

Parts Needed:

- New Steering Line

- Fluid

- Line Fitting Wrench

Instructions:

Prep the Vehicle

1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Engage the parking brake.

3. Crawl underneath the vehicle and locate the steering line. It is usually routed along the driver's side frame rail.

Replace the Steering Line

1. Use a line fitting wrench to loosen the fitting at the steering pump.

2. Move the wrench to the other end of the steering line and loosen the fitting at the steering rack.

3. Remove the steering line from the vehicle.

4. Position the new steering line in place and hand-tighten the fittings.

5. Use the line fitting wrench to tighten the fittings until they are snug.

Add Fluid

1. Open the power steering fluid reservoir.

2. Add enough power steering fluid to the reservoir to fill it to the "FULL" mark.

3. Close the power steering fluid reservoir.

Bleed the System

1. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and then all the way to the right.

2. Repeat step 1 until there are no more air bubbles in the steering fluid reservoir.

3. Turn off the engine.

Test the System

1. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and then all the way to the right.

2. The steering should be smooth and responsive.

Additional Tips:

- If the steering line is leaking, you may be able to repair it with a line repair kit.

- If the power steering fluid is dirty, you may want to flush the power steering system.
