2. Locate the throttle body. It is usually located on the front of the engine, just below the air filter housing.
3. The idle control valve is located on the side of the throttle body. It is a small, black device with a single electrical connector.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the idle control valve.
5. Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the two bolts that hold the idle control valve in place.
6. Remove the idle control valve from the throttle body.
7. Clean the idle control valve with a carburetor cleaner.
8. Reinstall the idle control valve in the throttle body.
9. Tighten the two bolts that hold the idle control valve in place.
10. Reconnect the electrical connector to the idle control valve.
11. Start the car and let it run for a few minutes. The idle should be smooth and consistent.
