To remove the skid plate on a Toyota 4 Runner in order to change the oil, follow these steps:

1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine. Allow the vehicle to cool down if it has been recently driven.

2. Locate the skid plate underneath the front of the vehicle. It is usually made of metal or plastic and covers the oil pan.

3. Use a floor jack to slightly lift the front of vehicle to ensure better access to the skid plate. Place jack stands under the frame of the vehicle for safety precaution.

4. Find the bolts or screws that hold the skid plate in place. These are typically located around the perimeter of the skid plate.

5. Use a wrench or socket to loosen and remove the bolts or screws. Be careful not to drop them.

6. Once all the bolts or screws have been removed, carefully lower the skid plate and set it aside.

7. Now you will have access to the oil pan drain plug.

8. After oil change. Replace the skid plate by aligning it with the holes in the frame and inserting the bolts or screws.
