Accessing the Bolt:
1. Raise the Vehicle: Safely lift the front end of your Buick using a car jack and jack stands. Ensure it's securely supported before proceeding.
2. Locate the Transmission Mount: Look below the vehicle and identify the transmission mount attached to the bottom of the transmission housing. The lower right mount bolt is one of the bolts securing the mount to the vehicle's subframe.
Removing the Bolt:
3. Prepare Your Tools: You'll need a set of wrenches or sockets with an extension bar long enough to reach the bolt.
4. Locate the Bolt: Identify the lower right mount bolt on the transmission mount. It should be visible from underneath the vehicle.
5. Loosen the Bolt: Using the appropriate wrench or socket, begin loosening the lower right mount bolt by turning it counterclockwise (lefty-loosey).
6. Remove the Bolt: Once the bolt is loosened, continue turning it until it is completely removed from the transmission mount.
Separating Transmission from Mount:
7. Support the Transmission: Place a transmission jack or a sturdy block of wood underneath the transmission pan to support its weight. Ensure it's secure before releasing the mount bolt completely.
8. Unscrew the Transmission Mount Bolts: Locate and remove the other bolts securing the transmission mount to the subframe. There might be one or two additional bolts, depending on your vehicle's specific design.
9. Detach the Transmission Mount: Once all the mount bolts are removed, carefully lower the transmission jack or wooden support to separate the transmission mount from the transmission housing.
10. Inspect and Replace if Necessary: Check the condition of the transmission mount and mounting hardware. Replace any worn-out components as needed.
