4. A new crankshaft pulley bolt.
Instructions:
1. Disconnect the negative terminal on your relay's battery to avoid any electrical accidents.
2. Get under the front of your car and locate the crankshaft pulley.
3. Use a hammer and a cold chisel to break the bolt loose by positioning the cold chisel on one of the bolt's flats. Striking it with the hammer while turning the engine back and forth should snap the bolt loose.
4. Ensure that the engine is in gear so the vehicle cannot roll while you are attempting to break the bolt loose.
5. Clean the bolt threads both in the pulley and crankshaft with a wire brush.
6. Apply a thread locker to the new crankshaft pulley bolt.
7. Screw the bolt into place by hand until it is finger-tight.
8. Use a torque wrench to tighten the bolt to the specified torque, which is typically around 100 Nm.
9. Ensure that you follow the manufacturer's recommended tightening sequence and torque specifications.
10. Finally, reconnect the negative terminal on your car’s battery.
