1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
Make sure the parking brake is applied. Turn the headlights off too
2. Open the rear hatch or liftgate.
This will provide access to the tail light assembly.
3. Locate the tail light socket.
The tail light socket is located at the back of the tail light assembly. It is usually a black or gray plastic housing.
4. Turn the socket counterclockwise.
This will release the socket from the assembly.
5. Remove the old light bulb.
The old light bulb is held in place by a metal clip. Remove the clip and take out the bulb.
6. Install the new light bulb.
Place the new light bulb into the socket and snap the metal clip into place. Make sure the bulb is positioned correctly and is not loose.
7. Reinstall the socket.
Turn the socket clockwise until it is snug.
8. Close the rear hatch or liftgate.
Your new tail light should now be working. If you do not see the new tail light immediately, check that the new light bulb is seated correctly and recheck your light switch
Test the tail light to make sure it is working properly.
