Where is the oil filter on a 2010 Toyota Tundra located?

Parts Required:

- New Oil Filter (Toyota Part Number: 90915-YZZD1, Size: 2010-2018)

Tools Required:

- Oil Filter Wrench

- Funnel

- Oil Drain Pan

- Wrench

Instructions:

1. Park your Tundra on level ground and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake, and allow the engine enough time to cool down before beginning.

2. Locate the oil filter. With the engine on the driver’s side, the oil filter is located to the rear and below the oil filler cap on the driver’s side of the engine.

3. Place an oil drain pan beneath the oil filter to catch any oil that may spill.

4. Use the oil filter wrench to loosen the oil filter by turning it counterclockwise. Remove the old oil filter.

5. Inspect the old oil filter for signs of wear or damage. Look for tears or holes in the filter material, as well as for any buildup of debris.

6. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter. This helps create a seal and prevent leaks.

7. Screw on the new oil filter by turning it clockwise. Tighten the oil filter until it is snug, but do not overtighten it.

8. Remove the funnel from the oil filler opening.

9. Check the oil level using the dipstick. Add more oil if necessary to bring the oil level up to the “Full” mark on the dipstick.

10. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any oil leaks around the oil filter. If you see any leaks, tighten the oil filter until the leaks stop.
