1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the serpentine belt.

4. Install the new alternator.

1. Disconnect the Negative Battery Terminal.

WARNING: Disconnecting the negative battery terminal can cause the radio to lose its presets. Before you start working, make sure you have the radio access code so you can enter it when you reconnect the battery.

- The negative battery terminal is marked with a minus (-) symbol. It is located on the battery in the engine compartment.

- Use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the negative battery cable in place.

- Once the nut is loosened, remove the cable from the terminal.

2. Remove the Serpentine Belt.

- Use a serpentine belt tool or a 15mm wrench to loosen the tensioner pulley.

- Rotate the tensioner pulley clockwise until the serpentine belt is loose.

- Remove the serpentine belt.

3. Remove the Alternator.

- Use a 12mm wrench to loosen the bolts that hold the alternator in place.

- Once the bolts are loosened, remove the alternator.

4. Install the New Alternator.

- Place the new alternator in position.

- Install the bolts that hold the alternator in place and tighten them.

5. Reinstall the Serpentine Belt.

- Route the serpentine belt around the pulleys as shown in the diagram below.

- Rotate the tensioner pulley clockwise until the serpentine belt is tight.

- Tighten the tensioner pulley bolt.

6. Reconnect the Negative Battery Terminal.
