1. Locate the oil drain plug on the bottom of the oil pan.
2. Place an oil drain pan under the oil drain plug.
3. Loosen the oil drain plug and allow the oil to drain.
4. Once the oil has drained, replace the oil drain plug.
5. Locate the oil filter on the engine block, near the top of the oil pan.
6. Use an oil filter wrench to loosen the oil filter.
7. Remove the oil filter and discard it.
8. Apply a thin coat of new engine oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
9. Screw the new oil filter onto the engine block until it is snug.
10. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
11. Check the oil level on the dipstick. Add more oil if necessary.
