To drain the coolant on an 88 Honda Prelude, follow these steps:

1. Park the vehicle on level ground and allow the engine to cool completely.

2. Open the hood and locate the radiator drain plug. It is located at the bottom of the radiator, on the driver's side.

3. Place a drain pan under the radiator drain plug.

4. Use a wrench to loosen and remove the radiator drain plug.

5. Allow the coolant to drain completely into the drain pan.

6. Once all of the coolant has drained, close the radiator drain plug.

7. Refill the radiator with fresh coolant.

8. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to circulate the coolant.

9. Check the coolant level in the radiator and adjust it as necessary.
