1. Turn the ignition key to the "On" position, but do not start the engine.
2. Locate the diagnostic connector, which is usually a 16-pin connector located under the dashboard, near the driver's side footwell.
3. Find the "ST" or "Service" terminal in the diagnostic connector. This terminal is usually labeled or marked with a different color from the other terminals.
4. Connect a jumper wire or paper clip between the "ST" terminal and the ground terminal in the diagnostic connector.
5. Leave the jumper wire or paper clip connected for at least 10 seconds.
6. Disconnect the jumper wire or paper clip.
7. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
8. If the SES light does not turn on after a few minutes, it means the reset was successful.
Please note that this procedure is for the 1997 Suzuki Sidekick only, and it may not work on other models or years of Suzuki vehicles. If the SES light persists after following these steps, it is recommended to have your vehicle diagnosed by a qualified mechanic or technician.
