A clutch release bearing, also called a throw out bearing, produces noise because it is not working correctly. In most cases, the throw-out bearing creates noise only when the clutch pedal is depressed. However, in many instances, the noise disappears as the clutch is engaged and disappears completely.
With a worn-out throw out bearing, you can hear a howling sound when accelerating or decelerating. The sound may also change pitch or volume as you turn the steering wheel.
