2. Locate the hatch struts. They are located on either side of the hatch, near the top.
3. Remove the old hatch struts. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry off the plastic caps at the ends of the struts. Once the caps are removed, you will see a 10mm bolt. Use a wrench to loosen and remove the bolts. The hatch struts will then be free to come off.
4. Install the new hatch struts. Place the new hatch struts in the same position as the old ones. Make sure that the ball joints on the ends of the struts are seated properly in the sockets. Insert the bolts and tighten them until they are snug.
5. Test the hatch struts. Open and close the hatch to make sure that the struts are working properly. The hatch should open and close smoothly, without any resistance.
Tips:
* When removing the old hatch struts, be careful not to drop them. They are heavy and could cause injury if they fall on your foot.
* When installing the new hatch struts, make sure that they are seated properly in the sockets. If they are not, they could come loose and cause the hatch to fall.
* If the hatch struts are still not working properly after you have installed them, you may need to adjust the tension. There is a small adjustment screw on the bottom of each strut. Use a flat-head screwdriver to turn the screw clockwise to increase the tension or counterclockwise to decrease the tension.
