2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down. This will prevent the coolant from boiling and causing injury.
3. Open the radiator cap. This will allow the air to escape from the system.
4. Locate the bleeder screw on the thermostat housing. This is typically a small screw with a slot for a screwdriver.
5. Open the bleeder screw. This will allow the air to escape from the system.
6. Allow the coolant to drain until it is free of air bubbles. This may take a few minutes.
7. Close the bleeder screw.
8. Add coolant to the radiator until it is full.
9. Close the radiator cap.
*Start the engine and run it at idle for a few minutes.* This will circulate the coolant and help to remove any remaining air pockets.
