Where is the starter located on a 2001 Sebring?

2001 Sebring 2.7 V6 - Starter motor

Removal

1. Allow the engine to cool down, then disconnect the negative battery cable and remove it from the battery.

2. Raise the vehicle and support safely.

3. Remove the front wheels.

4. Remove the right lower splash shield and the intake resonator housing to access the starter.

5. Disconnect the 2 electrical connections to the starter motor.

6. Remove the 3 bolts that hold the starter.

7. Carefully remove the starter from the vehicle.

Installation

1. Place the starter into the mounting position and install the 3 bolts. Tighten the bolts to the recommended torque.

2. Reconnect the 2 electrical connections to the starter.

3. Reinstall the intake resonator housing and the right lower splash shield.

4. Lower the vehicle and remove the jack stands.

5. Reinstall the front wheels.

6. Reconnect the negative battery cable and tighten.
