- Lift the car with a jack, and ensure it's securely supported (with axle stands or ramps).
- Locate the fuel filter housing underneath the car. It's often near the rear axle, close to the fuel tank.
- The fuel filter housing is typically a cylindrical-shaped component with fuel lines connected to it.
- Remove the fuel lines by pressing on the release tabs or using a flat-head screwdriver to release them. Be mindful of any residual fuel and have a rag ready to catch any spills.
- Once the fuel lines are disconnected, you can unscrew the fuel filter housing using an appropriate-sized wrench.
- Take out the old fuel filter from within the housing. It may be slightly stuck, so gently pry it out if needed.
- Insert the new fuel filter into the housing, making sure it's properly seated and aligned.
- Tighten the fuel filter housing back in place.
- Reattach the fuel lines, ensuring that they're secure.
- Lower the car and dispose of the old fuel filter responsibly.
