1. Open the fuel door. Behind the fuel filler inlet, you will see a round black metal cover.
2. There is a silver metal ring underneath the cover. Use a screwdriver or other flat object to pry off the ring (it may be necessary to use a little force).
3. Underneath the ring is a rubber hose. Disconnect the hose from the fuel pump.
4. Remove the silver metal plate from the fuel pump assembly.
5. The fuel pump is now visible. It is held in place by a plastic ring. Use a screwdriver to pry off the ring.
6. Lift the fuel pump out of the fuel tank.
Notes:
- Always disconnect the negative battery terminal before working on any fuel system component.
- When reconnecting the fuel hose, make sure it is properly seated and clamped in place.
- If you are replacing the fuel pump, be sure to use a new O-ring.
