How do you change the water pump on a 97 Concorde with timing belt in way?

Tools Needed:

* Wrenches

* Pliers

* Socket set

* Timing belt tensioner tool

* Gasket scraper

* New water pump and gasket

Procedure:

1. Remove the serpentine belt.

2. Remove the upper timing belt cover.

3. Use the timing belt tensioner tool to release the tension on the timing belt.

4. Remove the idler pulley and the timing belt.

5. Remove the water pump bolts and remove the water pump.

6. Clean the mating surface of the block.

7. Apply gasket sealant to the new gasket and install it on the water pump.

8. Install the water pump onto the block and torque the bolts to 14 ft-lb (19 Nm).

9. Install the idler pulley, timing belt, and timing belt cover.

10. Set the proper timing belt tension and install the serpentine belt.

Note: Before installing the timing belt you might want to consider changing them since you already went all this to change. If they have more than 60k miles it definitely will help your vehicle last significantly longer.
