How do you change power steering pump on 94 ranger?

Here are the steps on how to change a power steering pump on a 1994 Ford Ranger:

1. Park the Ranger on a level surface and turn off the engine. Allow it to cool down completely.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Raise the front of the Ranger using a floor jack and jack stands. Place the jack stands under the frame rails, behind the front wheels. Be careful not to jack up the Ranger too high, as you only need enough clearance to work underneath it.

4. Remove the serpentine belt. To do this, loosen the tensioner pulley bolt (located near the top of the engine) and push the tensioner pulley down. This will loosen the belt, allowing you to remove it from the pulleys.

5. Disconnect the power steering lines from the pump. There are two lines, a high-pressure line and a low-pressure line. The high-pressure line is usually metal and the low-pressure line is usually rubber. To disconnect the lines, use a flare nut wrench to loosen the fittings. Be careful not to spill any power steering fluid.

6. Remove the mounting bolts for the power steering pump. There are usually three bolts, located around the perimeter of the pump. Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts.

7. Remove the power steering pump from the vehicle. Be careful not to drop the pump, as it is heavy.

8. Install the new power steering pump. Reverse the steps you took to remove the old pump. Be sure to tighten the mounting bolts and power steering lines securely.

9. Fill the power steering reservoir with new power steering fluid.

10. Start the Ranger and turn the steering wheel lock-to-lock several times. This will help bleed any air from the power steering system.

11. Check the power steering fluid level and add more fluid if necessary.

12. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

13. Lower the Ranger from the jack stands.
