Tools and Materials Needed
* 10mm socket
* 13mm socket
* Flat-head screwdriver
* Pliers
* New fuel filter (Land Rover part number LR018448)
* Diesel fuel system cleaner (optional)
* Safety glasses
* Gloves
Step 1: Locate the Fuel Filter
The fuel filter on the 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, near the firewall. It is a black cylindrical housing with two fuel lines connected to it.
Step 2: Remove the Fuel Filter Cover
Use a 10mm socket to remove the two bolts that secure the fuel filter cover. Then, use a flat-head screwdriver to pry off the cover.
Step 3: Remove the Fuel Lines
Use a 13mm socket to loosen the fuel line nuts. Then, use pliers to disconnect the fuel lines from the filter housing. Be careful not to spill any fuel.
Step 4: Remove the Fuel Filter
Once the fuel lines are disconnected, you can remove the fuel filter from the housing. Be careful not to spill any fuel.
Step 5: Install the New Fuel Filter
Insert the new fuel filter into the housing. Make sure that the filter is seated properly and that the O-rings are in place.
Step 6: Reconnect the Fuel Lines
Reconnect the fuel lines to the filter housing. Tighten the fuel line nuts until they are snug.
Step 7: Replace the Fuel Filter Cover
Replace the fuel filter cover and secure it with the two bolts.
Step 8: Add Diesel Fuel System Cleaner (Optional)
If you wish, you can add diesel fuel system cleaner to the fuel tank. This will help to clean the fuel injectors and other components of the fuel system.
Step 9: Start the Engine
Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks around the fuel filter. If there are no leaks, the fuel filter replacement is complete.
