Why does my 4 speed manual pop out of 3rd gear?

There are a few reasons why your 4-speed manual transmission may be popping out of 3rd gear. Here are a few things to check:

1. Synchronizers: The synchronizers in your transmission are responsible for matching the speed of the gears before they engage, preventing grinding. If the synchronizers are worn or damaged, they may not be able to do their job properly, causing the gears to pop out.

2. Shift linkage: The shift linkage is the mechanism that connects the gearshift lever to the transmission. If the shift linkage is loose or damaged, it can cause the gearshift lever to move out of position, causing the gears to pop out.

3. Transmission mounts: The transmission mounts hold the transmission in place. If the transmission mounts are loose or damaged, the transmission can move around, causing the gears to pop out.

4. Bent or damaged shift fork: The shift fork is the part of the transmission that moves the gears into place. If the shift fork is bent or damaged, it may not be able to move the gears into place properly, causing them to pop out.

If you're not comfortable inspecting or repairing your own transmission, it's best to take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic for diagnosis and repair.
