2. Locate the crankshaft position sensor. The crankshaft position sensor is located on the front of the engine, near the oil filter. It is a small, black sensor with a single wire connector.
3. Disconnect the sensor connector. Press down on the release tab and pull the connector straight up.
4. Remove the sensor mounting bolt. The sensor mounting bolt is located on the side of the sensor. Use a wrench to loosen the bolt and remove it.
5. Pry the sensor out of the engine block. Use a pry bar or a flat-head screwdriver to pry the sensor out of the engine block. Be careful not to damage the sensor or the engine block.
6. Install the new crankshaft position sensor. Insert the new sensor into the engine block and tighten the mounting bolt.
7. Reconnect the sensor connector. Press down on the release tab and push the connector into place until it clicks.
8. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
