ELC is a long-lasting coolant that can be used for up to 600,000 miles or 6 years, whichever comes first. It is made with a different type of glycol than traditional coolants, and it does not contain any silicates or phosphates. ELC is more expensive than traditional coolants, but it can save you money in the long run because you won't have to change it as often.
Conventional Coolant (CC)
CC is the most common type of coolant used in heavy-duty trucks. It is made with ethylene glycol and contains silicates and phosphates to help protect the engine from corrosion. CC must be changed every 2 years or 120,000 miles, whichever comes first.
