2. Disconnect the battery.
3. Raise the front of the truck with a floor jack and support it with jack stands.
4. Locate the exhaust manifolds on the sides of the engine block.
5. Remove the nuts and bolts that hold the exhaust manifolds to the cylinder heads.
6. Remove the old exhaust manifold gaskets.
7. Clean the mating surfaces of the exhaust manifolds and cylinder heads.
8. Apply a thin coat of sealant to the exhaust manifold gaskets.
9. Reinstall the exhaust manifold gaskets and nuts and bolts.
10. Lower the truck.
11. Reconnect the battery.
12. Start the engine and check for leaks.
Tips:
- Use a ratchet wrench with a 1/2-inch drive to remove the nuts and bolts that hold the exhaust manifold to the engine block.
- Use a pry bar to loosen the exhaust manifold gaskets if they are stuck.
- Be careful not to drop any nuts or bolts into the engine.
