How do you replace th spark plugs on a 2001 Santa Fe v6?

Tools

* 5/8 spark plug socket

* 3/8 drive ratchet and extension

* Spark plug gap tool (0.044 in.)

* New spark plugs (NGK BKR5E-11 or equivalent)

Procedure:

1. Allow the engine to cool down.

2. Remove the plastic engine cover.

3. Locate the spark plugs. They are located on the top of the engine, under the ignition coils.

4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition coils.

5. Use the 5/8 spark plug socket and ratchet to loosen the spark plugs.

6. Remove the spark plugs.

7. Check the gap on the new spark plugs. The gap should be 0.044 in.

8. If necessary, adjust the gap using the spark plug gap tool.

9. Install the new spark plugs into the cylinder heads.

10. Tighten the spark plugs to 18 ft-lb.

11. Re-connect the ignition coils to the spark plugs.

12. Replace the engine cover.
