1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. This will prevent any electrical accidents while you are working on the fuel system.
2. Remove the fuel filler cap. This will allow air to enter the fuel tank and prevent it from building up pressure.
3. Locate the fuel tank straps. The fuel tank is held in place by two straps, one on each side of the tank.
4. Loosen the fuel tank straps. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts that hold the fuel tank straps in place.
5. Remove the fuel tank straps. Once the bolts are loose, you can remove the fuel tank straps.
6. Lower the fuel tank. Be careful not to spill any fuel.
7. Disconnect the fuel lines. There are two fuel lines connected to the fuel tank, one for the supply and one for the return. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts that hold the fuel lines in place.
8. Remove the fuel pump. The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank. It is held in place by a locking ring. Use a screwdriver to pry up the locking ring and remove the fuel pump.
Once you have removed the fuel pump, you can replace it with a new one. Be sure to connect the fuel lines and electrical connectors properly before reinstalling the fuel tank.
