1. Gather the following tools and materials:

* Fuel filter wrench or large adjustable wrench

* Rags

* Safety glasses

* Gloves

* Small container for catching spilled fuel

2. Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.

3. Apply the parking brake.

4. Open the hood and locate the fuel filter. It is usually located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the fuel tank.

5. Place the rags under the fuel filter to catch any spilled fuel.

6. Use the fuel filter wrench or adjustable wrench to loosen the fuel filter from the fuel line.

7. Be careful not to spill any fuel.

8. Remove the fuel filter from the fuel line.

9. Discard the old fuel filter.
