The fuel filter on a 1989 GMC Jimmy 2.8 engine is located directly above the fuel pump. The fuel pump is located on the driver's side of the engine, near the bottom. The fuel filter is connected to the fuel pump with two lines. The line that comes from the fuel tank goes to the fuel pump, and the line that goes to the engine comes from the fuel filter.
