Is there any slip on a Top Fuel or Funny Car between the rear tires and track at starting line?
In professional drag racing, cars are set up with a small amount of negative camber in the rear wheels. As the car is placed in the starting line ready to leave, the driver will push the car forward an inch using the electronic clutch controller. This will lower the rear of the car and load up the rear suspension causing the rear tires to make contact with the track. As soon as the pre-stage bulb activates, the driver will depress the trans brake and floor the throttle. The car will then launch with minimal tire slip.
